Reminder that the Fantasy Auction guitar-flute concert is Friday, July 23.
BEKRIS, the flute / classical guitar duo featuring Chris Funke and Becky Kuhl will be performing. If you didn't sign-up at the Fantasy Auction you can still come and pay at the door.
Proceeds go to the church.
There will be refreshments after the concert. Hope to see you there.

Interim Director of Religious Education at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Amherst, NY
The UUCA is looking for a part time (19 hour/ week) Interim DRE, to begin in September 2010 and serve through June of 2011. The Interim DRE will guide the spiritual development of the children and youth of the UUCA.
Ideally, the DRE will be:
• Familiar with UU principals, values, UU RE philosophy and RE curricula.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle a wide variety of tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with staff and volunteers.
• Familiarity with different styles of learning, teaching strategies and developmental stages of children and youth.
• Ability to recognize and respond to children’s and volunteers needs.
• Warm and inviting individual with whom families and children can easily engage.
• Strong computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets.
The interim DRE will be responsible for:
• Class Development which includes enrolling students, balancing class size and working with the RE committee to select a curriculum appropriate for each class.
• Recruiting, training and general support of the volunteer teachers.
• Work directly with the children by teaching a group class approximately once a month and also by being a substitute if needed.
• Maintain contact with parents and the congregation at large by:
-attending RE events.
-Summarizing RE activities in the church newsletter and post on website.
• Administer all records and information required to operate the RE program.
• A strong working relationship with the RE committee

Member Services Director
POSTION SUMMARY:
The Director of Member Services implements welcome/hospitality initiatives for all visitors to the church and fosters a welcoming culture among all members of the church. The DMS also facilitates the path to membership for newcomers, and ensures the integration of newcomers and members into the ongoing life of the church community. This position is for 10.5 months, 15 hours per week at a yearly salary of $12,000.00. It is partially funded through a Chalice Lighter Grant and may be for just one year.
SPECIFIC SKILLS:
¨ Strong customer service focus
¨ Data base capability, using Excel
¨ Facilitation and group leadership skills
¨ Ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds and experiences
¨ Strong communication skills, including writing, speaking, and listening
ACCOUNTABILITY AND OVERSIGHT:
This position is supervised by the Personnel Committee and Rev. Timothy Ashton.
This position is responsible for oversight of the Membership Committee. Oversight is shared with a Membership Team, made up of lay volunteers.
This position works closely with the Church Administrator to ensure accurate and up-to-date membership records and data base entry.

Volunteer Tutors Wanted for the ENERGY Tutoring Program
The ENERGY (Education, Nurture, Encouragement, Readiness and Growth for Youth) Tutoring Program at Westminster Presbyterian Church provides educational support to students from Buffalo’s West Side community. Services are provided to second through sixth grade students that reside in the Ferguson Avenue/Grant Street neighborhood.
The ENERGY Tutoring Program is seeking tutors who can donate time on Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays from 4:30-6:30 PM. The program follows the Buffalo Public Schools calendar.
