Kids’ Day Well Spent: 11/27
Faith Development is trialing a new seasonal offering to continue the momentum of our Curiosity Week! Kids’ Day Well Spent will provide families a fulfilling experience for their children with supervised care on days off from school and some evenings, offering some respite care for parents and caregivers.

Our first day will be Friday, November 27th (the day after Thanksgiving), for kids ages 8 to 15. The program will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with the potential for early drop off or late pickup depending on needs and staff availability. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

The cost of the day program will be $10 per kid just to cover snacks and lunch; scholarships are available and
nobody will be turned away due to lack of funds.

(Middle School) Youth Group Call
We are putting an official call out to create a middle-school-aged youth group! Youth between the ages of 10-14 are welcome. If you or your child is interested in this offering, please contact Katie: dfd@uuamherst.org. Once we have some interest gathered, we will look at timing and programming options.

Philosophy & Spirituality
Our next Philosophy & Spirituality circle is scheduled for 12:00 pm on November 15th in the back of the sanctuary. In this monthly drop-in conversation group, we use philosophical prompts to explore individual thoughts about morality, ethics, meaning and more, through the lens of spirituality. Participants of all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome. No philosophy knowledge or RSVP needed.

Call for FD Friends
In the early winter, we will be revitalizing our FD Friends, which aids the Faith Development program on Sunday by providing volunteers to help with childcare, activities, etc.

If you are interested in being an FD Friend, we will have a short introductory session to go over safety policies, program needs, volunteer activities and general info about our time together on Sundays. We will be requiring a background check going forward for FD Friends that do not have children already in the program. If you’re interested (this isn’t a commitment!), please let Katie know: dfd@uuamherst.org
