Welcome! We know that attending a new worship service can be daunting. Here are all of the things that might be helpful to know before attending a UU Amherst service for the first time.

Our Sunday Services are in person and online at 10:30 a.m. on YouTube channel (UUAmherst). Each service has a different focus related to a monthly theme and goes until about 11:30 a.m.. We frequently have guest speakers come in to offer different perspectives. To find out more information check out our Upcoming Services page, follow our Facebook page, or better, yet, sign up for our Friday Weekly Update!

Our main parking lot and entrance are located at the back of the building. Handicapped parking is available near the building. When you arrive, greeters will meet you at the door, offer you a name tag, and assist you with finding specific locations.

Once inside the Chapel, an Usher will hand you an order of service.  Many of the songs and readings will be projected on the screens at the front of the chapel. Sit wherever you are comfortable. Headsets are available if you need amplification to hear well.

Children and youth are welcome in the chapel during service. About 10-15 minutes into service, there will be a Wonder Box time where kids are invited to come up and sit in the front of the Chapel to hear a story. After the Wonder Box, children and youth are welcome to go to our Faith Development room where they can participate in value-based activities and play. A main feature of our youth program is to build a strong community with each other. They are also welcome to stay in the Chapel with their families for the entirety of the service. Parents and caregivers are always welcome to come to Faith Development. There is an infant quiet room off the Chapel for parents and caregivers to use. For more information about Faith Development, visit our Children, Youth, & Families page.

Coffee and Conversation immediately follows the service in the Emerson Room—a perfect time to mingle, ask questions, and get to know us! Coffee, tea, and donated snacks are available for your enjoyment.
