What is Membership

When you become a member of this church, you make a decision to participate in being part of beloved community at a deeper level. Membership entitles you to vote, to have a voice in the direction of the church, and to be a leader. It is the members who create church.

The Path

Step 1. Come to church as often as you can. Explore various connection activities. Take a chance with something just outside your comfort zone.

Step 2. Attend a UU and You session. Reflect on your individual spiritual journey, discuss UU beliefs, our mission and covenant. Questions about UUAmherst, its governance and ways to deepen your connection will also be explored. Childcare is provided.

Step 3. Pledge. This is a commitment beyond the Sunday collection that helps fund our mission in a planful manner. Request a pledge card by contacting our Church Administrator, Elaine at administrator@uuamherst.org

Step 4. Sign our Membership Book. Join us as we create an effective beloved community where you can broaden your vision and share life’s moments with other seekers.

There is no time limit for deciding to become a member, some of our members have come for a year or more before deciding this is where they belong. Some have started pledging prior to becoming a member. The path is what makes sense to you.
